PP305

Produced by PP Møbler, Wegner’s small writing desk although unpretetentious in its design nonetheless requires great skill to produce. The distinctive drawer fronts with their simple pull handles are cut from the single piece of timber which also forms the supporting front rail of the desk .

Wegner first exhibited a desk with drawer fronts

and pull handles of a similar style at the Copenhagen Cabinet Makers Exhibition in 1955. The press referred to the simple pull handles as “nipples”. Originally produced by Andreas Tuck as model AT305 it featured extension flaps as at either end.

PP305 without flaps is also reminiscent of RY32, the Ladys Writing Desk also designed in 1955 by Wegner and manufactured by Ry Møbler.
